Profile: 

The project is a highway tunnel undercrossing the Changjiang River with the full length of 3000 meters. It used the TBM made by HK with the diameter of 15.07 meters. It mainly crosses through the formations of moderately weathered breccia and moderately weathered sandstone.

Difficulty: 

Extremely stable quality was a necessary, while large-diameter-TMB was used under high water pressure.

Measures and effects: 

In the early stage, cutters provided by four manufacturers were compared. Our cutters stood out and were highly recognized by the user with steady quality. Finally, the user determined our company as the main supplier.

In the Heyan Road Underwater Tunnel South Section Tunnel Project Bid No. A2 Project undertaken by our company, the tunnel crosses through (2) 5 fine silty sand, (4) 1 medium coarse sand, (8) 2j intensely weathered breccia, (8) 3j moderately weathered breccias, (8) 3s1 moderately weathered glutenite, (9) 3 moderately weathered limestone and (7) 3s1 moderately weathered pebbly sandstone and glutenite. The rock formation is complete. There are karst areas, flushes, and fracture zones in the interval. Such formation requires the cutters with high impact resistance and wear resistance.
